Description: The Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts presents violinist Angelo Xiang Yu, winner of the prestigious Menuhin Violin Competition in 2010. Mr. Yu is regarded as one of today’s most talented young violinists. His astonishing technique and exceptional musical talent have won him consistent critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience response worldwide for his solo recitals, orchestral engagements and chamber music performances.
Mr. Yu has appeared in recitals in Berlin, Paris, Beijing, Singapore, Shanghai, Auckland, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Boston. He has participated in the world’s leading music festivals including the Verbier, Bergen, Ravinia, Kronberg, and the Perlman. He was invited to tour with Miriam Fried and chamber musicians from the Ravinia Festival in 2013 and performed in New York, Chicago, Florida and throughout New England. He was featured as the Artist in Residence on American Public Media’s nationally broadcast radio program “Performance Today.” Mr. Yu received his Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory under Donald Weilerstein and Kim Kashkashian.
Mr. Yu will perform works by Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, and world premiere Ke Xu's “The echo in the sky” dedicated to him for this event. On the piano will be Ms. Qing Jiang whom was praised by the New York Times as a “fiery musician whose playing is vigorous and passionate.”
