Welcome! We are
Families with
Children from China/New England, a support group with almost 800
families. We are among the largest of the over 90 FCC chapters
worldwide. Our chapter supports three groups
- Adoptive families
- People considering adoption in China
- Children still waiting in China's orphanages
Our philosophy is simple. We seek
to share our happiness. We celebrate the joy that adoption has brought
our families. Our members include single parents, married and unmarried
couples, waiting parents, grandparents, friends of adoptive families
and people who are exploring adoption. Our partnerships include
institutions in the Chinese American community and other institutions,
such as schools, that serve our children. (Click
here to read about other activities in which we are involved)
We hope that you will want to share the companionship of our remarkable
families. Yes, adoption is different. At FCC/New England we find the
differences exciting and fun. So do our children.
With very best regards,
Shanti A. Fry

The FCC/NE Video Library
The
FCC/NE Lifebook Project
The FCC/NE
Lifebook Project was formed two years ago in response to a need
from our members. At that time, parents were becoming interested in
having
more information on how to talk to their young children about their
early
lives and how their families were formed. As of this writing in early
2001, over 150 of our members have participated in Lifebook Sessions,
small
group meetings led by a facilitator and social worker that introduces
and
encourages thoughtful discussion on how we tell our children about
their
early lives. See the FCC/NE Lifebook Page to
learn more about lifebooks and to schedule a session in your area!
