China Connection: The FCC-NE Journal
|
|
Two times per year
members of Families with Children from China - New
England receive the journal, China Connection. On its pages, parents
and children share information about the adoption journey - from its
beginnings in China to its day-to-day experiences as our children grow
up. Its editor, Melissa Ludtke, is mother to Maya Xia, adopted in June
1997 from Changzhou’s Social Welfare Institute. They live in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. China Connection was launched in January, 1995 by Julie Michaels. When Julie adopted her daughter, Lily Rachel, from Wuhan in 1992, she was among the first wave of families from the Boston area to adopt a child from China. At the start of 2002, the editor’s role was passed on to Melissa Ludtke, an FCC-NE board member and long-time journalist. She now works with architect Sara Harper, who adopted her daughter, Ana Li, from Liuzhou in 1998, and now designs the journal. Story suggestions are welcomed, whether or not you intend to be the one to write about the topic you’d like to see China Connection cover. Please send any ideas you have - or letters to the editor you’d like to have published - via e-mail to Melissa Ludtke at MelissaL@fccne.org or call her at 617-354-1728. Some articles from back issues are posted on this Web site. Beginning with the Winter issue of 2002, PDF files of China Connection stories will be found on this Web site. Back issues of China Connection are available in print - going back to 1995. A single issue costs $10.00, and the check should be made payable to FCC-NE. Send your order and a check to Susan Avery, 31 Central St., Acton, Ma. 01720. FCC-NE HOME |
